A meeting was held today where the United Nations Resident Coordinator (RC) briefed political parties regarding the UN’s technical and advisory support for the upcoming national elections in Bangladesh.
The discussion focused on ensuring an inclusive, peaceful, and participatory electoral process. The RC highlighted the UN’s commitment to assisting Bangladesh in strengthening democratic institutions and enhancing election-related capacities.
Representatives from several political parties attended the briefing.
From the Jatiya Party, Co-Chairman Mostafa Al Mahmud was present at the meeting.
Participants exchanged views on the election environment, preparations, and potential areas of support. The RC reiterated that the UN stands ready to provide cooperation within its global mandate and at the request of the government and relevant stakeholders.
